The 2 most valuable treasures in life.

Beloved, I have realized that nothing matters more in life than PEACE and JOY. You can live without money; you can live without a house or you can live without any other earthly possession, but you cannot live for long without peace and joy in your mind and in your family. I have met many people who are so successful in their careers and ministry but have no peace or joy in their mind or in their homes. A vast majority of believers are actually miserable inside though they put on a nice show for the outside world to make them believe all is well. Hence the most valuable and highly precious treasures that you can possess in this world are PEACE and JOY.

What did Jesus promise us?

Jesus promised us His Peace (John 14:27) and His Joy (John 16:20-22) for our life here on earth. He did not promise riches or wealth or position or possessions. He promises peace and joy. The Hebrew word used for Peace is the word Shalom (in Greek – Eirene) which is a WHOLESOME PEACE COVERING TRANQUILITY, REST, CALM, HARMONY, UNITY, WELL-BEING AND PROSPERITY FOR SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY. The Greek word used for Joy in the New Testament is xara/chara which means JOY BECAUSE OF GRACE (Grace is xaris/charis in Greek). It is joy which comes because of the Grace of God upon our lives.

This Peace and Joy is much more valuable than anything else on this earth beloved and there is no point in losing it or having it affected by getting our mind all troubled or our time wasted over things of this world.

How can we protect and walk in this Shalom (Peace) and Xara (Joy) daily?

The answer to this is found in 1 Thessalonians 4:11.

No:1 – Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life – Be content, thankful and faithful with what God has given you now and just enjoy life always. We must be content with the blessings that God has given us already (Hebrews 13:5). A discontent heart will never be happy because it will always be wanting more no matter how much it has. Also we must be thankful for everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18). A heart that is thankful even for little blessings will always be joyful. An unthankful heart will always be grumbling and complaining. Even as we continue to remain content and thankful, we must remain faithful to do what God wants from us always. We must be faithful and be good stewards of what God has given us now. Faithfulness will bring more blessing from God to you. Matthew 25:21 ‘His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

No:2 – You should mind your own business and work with your hands – What is happening outside in other people’s personal lives, other homes, other churches or wherever should not concern you. Do not poke your fingers into matters which do not concern you. We must always mind our own business and do what God has given us to do faithfully. We must learn His Word and obey it. We must live and walk in His Spirit and be transformed by Him to bear good fruit which is His character. Our main focus should be to bear fruit for Christ as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23. God’s will for you is to bear fruit. That is what why He has chosen you. John 15:16 ‘You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you’

Beloved, even as we begin a New Year and a New Decade, the Lord is going to give you greater victories ahead. He will fight all your battles. All you have to do is bear good fruit for Him and He will make your life great. Wishing you all who read this a lifetime full of Shalom & Chara from Christ Jesus.
